Jeffrey T. Baker (Drawing ‘03) was interviewed in the premiere issue of Diffusion Magazine (http://www.diffusionmag.com), a new periodical devoted to “unconventional photography.“ Jeffrey has an upcoming solo show at the Maude Kerns Art Center in Eugene, OR (http://www.mkartcenter.org) from July 17-August 28, 2009. His mixed media drawings/photographs will also be part of a group show at the Glenn & Viola Walters Cultural Art Center in Hillsboro, OR from September 1-30, 2009. This past May, Jeffrey took part in Bethany Ides’ Approx L exhibition (http://approximatel.blogspot.com/) at Worksound Gallery by contributing photographic documentation of her performance about the name Lindsey and its many permutations over time and place.
Ryan Pierce (Drawing ‘03) is showing new work in Green Oregon, at PNCA’s Manuel Izquierdo Gallery in June and in “NextNew: Green,“ at San Jose Institute for Contemporary Art from July through September. Lori Mason (Fibers ‘95) has just had her first Lori Mason Design textile collection accepted by RJR Fabrics. It is scheduled to hit the market May 2010. Lori will be featured as one of RJR Fabrics’ new designers focusing on a modern aesthetic. RJR Fabrics distributes its textiles internationally, primarily to the quilting industry.
Marilyn Joyce (draw/paint 06) is part of “Town and Country: Oregon at 150,“ a juried group exhibit at the Froelick Gallery in Portland, Or. The show continues through July 11th.

Sandra Preston (Drawing/Painting ‘04) is showing new work at Moxie boutique in Portland. Sandra’s mixed-media sculptures, paintings, and performance works address how cultural narratives inform aesthetic practice. Her colorful and often painfully funny works cross a diverse range of expression—from abstract painted algorithmic patterns to writing to fictional ‘Holocaust Educational Kits.‘ Sandra has exhibited both locally and nationally, and her work is held in international private collections. She received her M.F.A. from Maine College of Art and is a member of The Bunny Sandwich Collective. Nicole Gibbs (Ceramics ‘06) is showing new work with fellow Ohio State University grad students, Will Tucker and Paul Simmons in the exhibition titled, “After the Pedestal: The 5th Annual of Smaller Sculpture from the Region” at The Sculpture Center (http://www.sculpturecenter.org/) in Cleveland, Ohio. The show was juried by Paola Morziani, the Curator of Contemporary Art at The Cleveland Museum of Art.
