Brandy Cochrane (Metals ’04), along with Paul Middendorf, a local artist, curator and director of gallery HOMELAND, have received a RACC grant to complete a large-scale installation in late 2009. And, as of September 16, she began working at R/West, a full-service advertising, marketing and PR agency in inner Southeast Portland, not Illinois, as previously reported. http://www.r-west.com/

Blue Mitchell (Photography ’05) has his “Acrylic Lift on Birch” transfer process, with step by step instructions, published in the book “Photographic Possibilities, Third Edition: The Expressive Use of Equipment, Ideas, Materials, and Processes” by Robert Hirsch. Adam Blankinship (Wood ‘08) and his wife, Allyson, welcomed their new boy, Arlo Jameson, into the world Dec. 5th. He’s a cutie.
Shannon Lowry (Ceramics ‘08) current MFA student at the University of Colorado has had two works accepted in the “From This Side: United States Artists On Immigration” exhibition at the Academia de San Carlos, Mexico City, D.F. The opening was held on November 13 during which each artist spoke publicly about their work in relation to immigration concerns. The show will remain open until December 21, 2009.
Danielle Sommer (Post-Bacc ‘07) and Sandra Preston (BFA ‘04) participated in Tom Marioni’s ongoing performance piece at SF MOMA in December as part of the “Art of Participation” show.
