Larson Gallery is soliciting entries for Adorn the Form: New Directions in Fiber and Jewelry, a biennial national juried exhibition that runs April 13 through May 12, 2012. Approximately $3,000 in prize money will be awarded. Eligible work includes hats, showes, bags, jewelry, scarves, hair adornments, belts, etc in media such as metal, fiber, paper, plastic and other materials. Adorn the Form offers a broad platform for fiber and jewelry artists beyond garment or wearable art. This year’s juror is Seattle metalsmith and stylist, Jana Brevick. The Cannon Beach Gallery is pleased to announce that Carl Annala, the Cultural Arts Program Supervisor for the Walters Cultural Arts Center in Hillsboro, will be the guest juror for our next All Juried Show.  Artists interested in submitting work to the show should bring their submissions to the gallery on Thursday, June 2 between 10am-4pm.  The exhibition will run from June 4-June 20, 2011.
The Juried Show program at the non-profit Cannon Beach Gallery is one of the unique offerings of the Cannon Beach Arts Association.  It provides both emerging and professional artists the opportunity to submit their original artwork for consideration by a guest curator.
All artwork needs to be exhibition ready with a wire for hanging, an original piece which was completed with in the last two years. Three dimensional artwork is encouraged, photography is accepted along with other two dimensional media. All artwork needs to be for sale, the Cannon Beach Gallery takes a 40% commission.  There is an application fee for submitting work; $10 for up to three pieces, or $5 for CBAA memberships.  An annual membership to the CBAA for an individual is $25.

The Northwest Student Leadership Conference (NWSLC) provides leadership skills, communication techniques, empowerment tools when dealing with obstacles during post secondary education.

NWSLC unites students nationally to discuss and to confront issues concerning LGBTQ to financial inequities.
The Oregon College of Arts and Crafts would be a new member to the table of attendees expanding the wealth of participant conversations.

Photographer is being sought to work with the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) as a portrait photographer for an ongoing diversity project administered by OHSU’s Diversity Advisory Council (DAC).  The diversity project will provide a highly visible multimedia diversity timeline on the OHSU campus.
The RFP process will help establish a contract with an artist/organization to act as the portrait photographer for this project. The selected artist(s) will be responsible for two portrait photographs of two historical OHSU graduates. Proposals may be submitted now by following the submission process listed in the RFP document below. The committee will make its final artist selection after reviewing all submissions.

Reconnecting Children with Families is a local, non-profit program that searches for long lost relatives for children who have been in foster care for so long that they’ve become disconnected from their family of origin. Often called the loneliest children, RCWF’s mission is to create lifelong family connections for these youth so that even if they can’t go home, they’ll always have a family.

We are currently looking for a volunteer artist to paint a large tree mural on the wall in the Beaverton DHS Child Welfare office, to provide a beautiful, visual depiction of our progress as well as the continued need for family connections. Non-functional or conceptual prototypes will not be accepted. All mediums and methods of manufacture welcome.
Pieces must fit through a 3 ft 0 in x 6 ft 8 in door.
Assembled size may be no more than: 60 in x 90 in x 96 in height.

Excluded: conceptual work, carpet and flooring, lighting that requires hardware to install, materials, wall coverings, accessories, textiles, kitchen and bath plumbing.

Hana Farms, a nursery in West Linn, OR, that deals in hardy perennials, orchids and unusuals, is accepting submissions for Art Under the Sun, to be held July 2010.  We have 1.5 acres to fill. 

Work for sale must be able to survive the elements outside and would preferably be intended to live outside permanently.  10% commission on sales.  Please send photos with your personal information and artwork description.  Nearly everything will be accepted unless we run out of space, of which there is a lot.  If you can transport your art there it will most likely be shown. 

Site-specific work, for sale or not, is also acceptable.  Pretty much anything goes, as long as you are not toxifying the area you may dig, build, sculpt, grow, drench, burn, etc., etc.  Please survey the area at Hana Farms during business hours and talk to Sean McMillen, owner, to see if your idea is feasible.  You must submit a written proposal for any site-specific work to be accepted.  Sketches or photos would be desirable. 

Art Under the Sun will run the entire month of July during Hana Farms regular business hours, opening night garden party TBA.  This show will be advertised to the fullest extent possible.
